Georgia Bruce has represented Australia in Dressage on seven occasions, including the Paralympic Games in Athens 2004, as well as the Para Equestrian World Dressage Championships in 2003 and 2007.
At each of these international events Georgia has ridden borrowed horses, and sometimes had only a few days to train on them. Georgia has a skill for getting along with horses and getting the best out of them in a very short time frame.
She has also competed successfully in open competitions including FEI level dressage, western pleasure, horsemanship, trail, reining and cutting.
Georgia specializes in training dressage horses, trick horses, liberty horses, re-training problem horses and starting young horses. She has taught her horse "Rumba the Wonder Horse" to do tricks, paint pictures and perform grand prix dressage at liberty.
Georgia has trained, re-trained, started, ridden and competed thousands of horses.
She has also worked with some of the best horse trainers in the world including Hubertus Schmidt (Dressage Olympian, Germany) and Dr. Andrew McLean P.h.d. (Equine Behaviour, Australia).
She has also worked with Christine Doan (Dressage Olympian), Chris and Helen Chugg (A Grade Showjumpers and Diamond B Stud), Richard Weis (Posture and Seat Specialist), Natural Horsemen including Ken Faulkner and Dave Stewart.
Georgia has studied equine learning and behaviour. This knowledge of horse psychology combined with her experience training horses has led to her expertise in a science based method of training known as "Clicker Training".
Georgia has used Clicker Training for the past eleven years to train horses for:
dressage, western, tricks, liberty, problem solving, ground handling and starting young horses.
Georgia trains horses professionally and gives lessons and clinics around Australia
She is also a level 1 coach with the Equestrian Federation of Australia and a is a qualified dressage judge.
Georgia has written a book:
"How to Teach your Horse Tricks - With Clicker Training".
She is also currently completing another comprehensive horse training book called:
"How to Click with your Horse - Clicker Training for Ground Work, Riding and Problem Solving".
Georgia has appeared many times on TV, Radio, in Newspapers and Magazines.
She has performed trick shows, clicker training demonstrations and appeared as a guest speaker at events including Equitana Asia Pacific, 2002, 2003. Agricultural Shows, Rotary Field Days, Equine Shows, Fates, Fares, Schools and Charity Functions.
Georgia was asked to be an Educator at Equitana Asia Pacific 2007, however this event was postponed due to the Equine Influenza Outbreak. Georgia and her horse Rumba the Wonder Horse will now be appearing at Equitana in 2008, as clicker training educators.
