Equestrian Profile - Georgia Bruce
Georgia Bruce is from Kuranda in Far North Queensland.She has represented Australia in Dressage on eight occasions.
Most recently at the 2008 Paralympic Games where she won two bronze medals riding Carolyn Lieutenant's 18hh horse Victory Salute.
Georgia also competes successfully in open dressage to FEI level as well as cutting, western events, horse sports, hacking and reining.
Georgia specializes in training young horses and retraining problem horses. She also gives lessons and clinics around Australia helping people to get the best out of their horse and achieve their goals.

Georgia has a special interest in liberty work and trick training. She has taught her horse Rumba to perform amazing tricks such as playing croquet, quoites, soccer, musical instruments and painting pictures.
Rumba also performs Grand Prix Dressage movements at liberty including Piaffe, Passage and Canter Pirouettes.Georgia and Rumba have performed at events including, Equitana Asia Pacific, Agricultural Shows, Horse Shows, Dressage Competition Days, Schools, Charity Functions, Rotary Field Day.
Georgia and Rumba are also improving their show to include Astro the Warmblood and Foxy the Minature Pony.
Astro, Rumba and Foxy perform together at liberty.
Georgia also specializes in a method of training known as "Clicker Training".Clicker Training is a method of training animals, that uses positive reinforcement.
It is most widely used with zoo animals and in marine parks.
Georgia has been using clicker training with horses for the past ten years.
Georgia also works at the Cairns Wildlife Safari Reserve. Where
she is involved with clicker training exotic animals including cheetahs, lemurs and a rhino.Georgia has studied Natural Horsemanship as well as classical training techniques. These combined with clicker training are what Georgia believes to be the way of the future in horse training.
There is always more to learn about horses and their training, Georgia also believes in staying open minded enough to keep learning.
Georgia has trained, ridden and competed on thousands of horses. She has also worked for various studs and training facilities including:
- Larundel Warmblood Stud, starting, training and competing their young horses.
- Koah Arabian stud where she trained and competed their Arab stallion to FEI level Dressage.
- Christine Doan Dressage Stables, Georgia trained young horses and prepared them for sale.
- Chris Chugg show Jumping Stables, Georgia trained and worked their horses.
- Hubertus Schmidt, Georgia trained in Germany with Hubertus.
